We founded Extra Virgin Skin in Ojai, California with the idea of using historically significant ingredients from the four corners of the world and bringing them together with the most advanced skincare science available.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

It is said that Cleopatra used EVOO as her skincare of choice and the writings of major ancient philosophers and physicians such as Hippocrates, Aristotle, Philostratus, and Lucian described its use as well. English Chanel swimmers use EVOO to ward off the harshness of Atlantic sea water.
There was good reason for them to do so, EVOO is loaded with natural antioxidants making it a natural anti-aging ingredient. One of these antioxidants, hydroxytyrosol, is a very rare and extremely potent polyphenol compound found in the highest concentrations in the best olive oils. That is why we use only organic EVOO sourced locally and certified by the COOC.
All Olive Oils are not created equal. We’ve found that only one type of EVOO is suitable for our formulas. It is our highest guarded trade secret.
Edelweiss

Alpine folklore is full of stories of tragic love from the dangers of climbing the Alps to fetch this symbol of pure love and worthiness. Edelweiss survives extreme conditions, grows on rocks in high altitudes with low temperatures. To do this it has had to develop many defensive mechanisms to protect itself from the elements and intense UV rays.
This hardy Flower contains Phytosterols, Amino acids, polysaccharides – with unique moisturizing properties, and phytochemicals such as Chlorogenic acid which scavenge free-radicals and Luteolin, a natural skin brightener.
Tumeric

Turmeric is a plant that has a very long history of skincare use, dating back nearly 4000 years. In Southeast Asia, turmeric is used not only as a principal spice but also as a component in religious ceremonies.
Turmeric paste is applied to the skin of the bride and groom before marriage where it is believed to make the skin glow and keep harmful bacteria away from the body. There is good reason to believe this, as an antioxidant, turmeric increases antioxidant enzymes, and inhibit lipid oxidation. Translation, it keeps your skin from aging in a unique way.
Aloe Vera
The Aloe vera plant has been known and used for centuries for its health, beauty, medicinal and skin care properties. 2000 years ago, the Greek scientists regarded Aloe vera as the universal panacea. The Egyptians called Aloe “the plant of immortality.”
The reasons are simple, it provides 20 of the 22 human required amino acids and 7 of the 8 essential amino acids. It has a rare from of humectant, which helps in binding moisture into the skin. Aloe also stimulates collagen production and elastin fibers making the skin more elastic and less wrinkled.
